How Depstress writes, sources and updates its mental health articles.

People come to Depstress when they're worried about themselves or someone they love. We take that seriously. This page explains how our articles are written and kept up to date.

How we write

  • Plain language. We explain things the way a kind, knowledgeable friend would: without jargon, and without talking down.
  • Grounded in evidence. We base our articles on research and guidance from established health organisations and peer-reviewed studies, and we link to sources where it helps.
  • Honest about limits. We say when evidence is mixed or early, especially about supplements and new treatments.
  • Safe. We follow safe-messaging practice on suicide and self-harm, and every article points to real help.

Stories

Some articles share personal stories. Names and details may be changed to protect privacy. Articles about public figures are based only on what they have shared publicly.

Updates and corrections

We review articles and update them when guidance changes. Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. If you spot a mistake, please tell us and we'll correct it.

Our articles are for information only. Please read our medical disclaimer.
